Tips on being more organised in 2021

A new year and a fresh start. So why not enforce some healthy new habits. With some easy straight forward tips and tricks on how to be more organised in 2021.

Did you know it only takes 21 days to make or break simple habits? Which means by the beginning of February you could be much more organised. And who does not feel more relaxed when they are organised?

Firstly, a very simple habit which can set you up for success the rest of the day is just making your bed each morning. This sets the tone for the rest of the day and allows you to be more productive having started your day fresh.

Another strange but super helpful tip to remaining organised (and is also super helpful if you are moving) is to keep a bag in your clothing cupboard or near it which can be used for clothes that you decide you do not need or want anymore. This saves the time and effort of having to go through all of your clothes at once and allows this to be a simple habit when getting dressed for example and finding a bit of clothing you no longer require.

Many find it super handy to have a planner or calendar which lives on a wall or surface that is visible within the household and for all members of the household. On this can be things like activities throughout the week (sports, nights out, meetings) as well as birthdays and tasks and their due dates. This allows all members of the household to work together to complete tasks and stay on top of schedules without becoming frazzled or misunderstanding what’s going on. This can also allow for tasks to be allocated to specific members of the household and it is visible so everyone can keep each other accountable for their tasks.

Finally, another way to maintain accountability and focus on what you are wanting to achieve within 2021 is to set goals and prioritise reaching those goals by due dates and times. This does not mean that these deadlines cannot change, however having time to achieve goals by tends to keep you focused on them.

Don’t forget that these are simple tasks or activities to fit into your days. By making them a priority for just 21 days they will no longer seem like tasks or activities that consume time as they will be a habit and something that just fits into your schedules alongside all the other things you have to do.
